Thousands of mourners gathered in the Iraqi holy cities of Najaf and Karbala as funeral processions began for Iran's late Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
The ceremonies drew large crowds, with prayers held at the Imam Hussein Shrine under the leadership of a representative of Iraq's top Shiite religious authority. The funeral follows Khamenei's reported death during U.S. and Israeli strikes on Iran.
